Once again we have a community that has been poorly informed of a major change.
Earlier this year communities around Stanley Park faced a similar situation with the John Howard Society Half Way House in Manchester.
It is absolutely the duty of your alderman to keep everyone in a community informed about changes that may have a major impact on their safety. If we can go door to door asking for your vote then we can do the same to keep you informed.
This duty cannot be simply passed onto volunteer run community associations. While they need to be involved they do not have the resources or mandate to take on this responsibility.
This project needs to be put on hold until such time as the community is informed and their questions and concerns resolved.
